Homemade lower fat minced beef patties

Homemade beef patties made with extra lean minced meat, without adding salt, oil or butter!

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams minced beef less than 5% fat
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 tbsp oats
  • 3 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp asafoetida powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions
 

  • Soak the oats in water for at least 5 minutes and set aside.

  • Peel and dice the onion.
  • Add the minced beef, the diced onion and the rest of the igredients in a large bowl. If there is water left from soaking the oats, you can add it too. With your hands, knead the the minced meat with all the ingredients until the mixture looks smooth.
  • Divide the mixture into four parts. Roll each part into balls and then slightly flatten each one to shape the patty.
  • Cover the bottom of the oven tray with tap water and move the patties in the tray.

  • Turn on the oven and select the "upper and lower heat" setting. Set the temperature to 190 degrees C and put the tray in the oven.

  • After 35 minutes, carefully open the oven door, flip the patties and close the oven door as soon as possible.
  • After 10 minutes turn the heat off and open the oven door. You can serve your patties immediately.
